A CELEBRATION OF THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Honolulu ... Award-winning photographer Rita Coury is presenting a free photography exhibit, open to the public, on July 16, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Cupola Theater, 2nd floor, Honolulu Design Center. This is Ms. Coury’s first Mahalo Anniversary Showcase and celebrates the many faces of Hawaii that she has captured on film during the past two years.
This is a true celebration of photography as art. Although most of the fine-art canvas portraits are pre-sold, there will be an opportunity for those in attendance to schedule their own sittings. As this is a celebration, there will be pupu and entertainment for your enjoyment while viewing this fine-art display. Entertainment includes the ethereal sounds of singing crystal bowls being played by Kailua’s Bryan Jordan. Also performing will be the best female ukulele virtuoso in the world, Taimane. A Don Ho discovery, Taimane has rocked stages around the world from Japan to Las Vegas and she promises a mesmerizing performance at this Mahalo Showcase.
Door prizes including several $500 photo packages will be given away throughout the evening. As Ms. Coury’s specialty is photography of children from newborns to toddlers to pre-teens, families including keiki are welcome.
